INFO ABOUT BEADS OF CAMBAY
Beads Of Cambay offers a variety of plated copper based beads, as well as semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls.
ROSE GOLD PLATED COPPER BRUSHED NUGGET 2MM (#432511)
These faceted nuggets measure approximately 2mm (height/ hole to hole) by 2.75mm (width), with a hole size of approximately 1mm. They have rounded corners and a brushed textured (short deboss strokes) finishing. These nuggets don't reflect light.
Approximately 90 pieces of nuggets are strung on each string (8 inches) and retails for USD7.00. Beads Of Cambay's product image accurately represents the item we received in all areas except colour. The colour of the product we received was less vibrant and intense compared to the product image.
OVERALL
These faceted nuggets are copper based beads with rose gold plating, the copper center of the nuggets give them a nice weight, which I feel, is good for jewellery making as it makes jewellery fall nicely when worn.
Like many plated materials, polishing is not recommended. Polishing will strip the plating and expose the core material. I tried polishing some of the nuggets, hoping it will brighten. But ended up stripping the rose gold plating, revealing the core material. To prevent the nuggets from tarnishing, I keep mine in zip-lock bags with anti-tarnish tabs. I do the same with my bracelet that uses these nuggets. But I do feel that these nuggets tarnish more compared to Beads Of Cambay's buttons if not properly stored.
