HOW TO LEVEL UP FAST (GUIDE), HOC HEROES OF ORDER AND CHAOS

Staying competitive in Heroes Of Order And Chaos is a matter of having a high levelled Hero. If you have a higher level compared to the enemy Heroes that you fight, you will inadvertently win in a 1v1 fight.

Death and Dying In HOC

HOC Heroes Of Order And Chaos: How To Level Up Fast (Guide)

Yep, dying is unpleasant. But beyond the unpleasantness of having to stare at a countdown timer while the battle rages on without you, dying also means precious time spent away from gaining XP to level up your Hero. Not only that, the enemy Heroes will get a jump on you in the race to level up while you're away.

The first tip I got in my first Multiplayer Match was:"Don't die, lol..dude..seriously, don't die." I LOL-ed. When the match started, in typical noob fashion, I died.

Each time your Hero dies, the countdown timer increases slightly, the less you die, the faster you can get back in the fight and not only gain more XP but deprive the enemy Heroes from getting easy XP and level ups.

The higher your Hero's level, the longer you'll have to wait for a respawn if you die. So once again, quick and simple, don't die!

How To Get XP To Level Up Your Hero

  • Killing enemy soldiers
  • Killing enemy Heroes
  • Being close enough when enemy soldiers are killed
  • Being close enough when enemy Heroes are killed
Killing enemy soldiers and Heroes provide you with XP, naturally, killing an enemy Hero is more difficult compared to AI controlled soldiers, so you'll get more XP. But even if you don't land a single hit and spend all your time running back and forth around the fight you'll still gain XP, albeit at a slower rate.

How To Fight Off Enemy Heroes

Heroes Of Order And Chaos is not made for Rambo style playing, in most scenarios, charging into the midst of the enemy is a bad idea. 3 level 8 Heroes can take down a lone level 15 Hero.

Fights in PVP are mostly a matter of charging and feinting, pulling back at the last moment, with a few wimpy slaps exchanged, waiting for the enemy Hero to miscalculate and charge a bit too close. This is where it pays not to be greedy and overreach.

Picking skills that snare or have high damage are generally a good idea. Many players will head back to the Life Well with their tail between their legs when their HP drops below half. If you manage to chase the enemy Hero away, good job! Don't head back to the Life Well just yet!

Life And Death Matters

HOC Heroes Of Order And Chaos: How To Level Up Fast (Guide)

For beginners, it's extremely important to pick Heal when you're choosing your Hero. Heal even at lvl 1 gives 250HP which could mean the difference between your Hero's life and death. Don't give enemy Heroes an easy kill, use Heal.

Don't keep heading back to the Life Well. Every second you spend moving between the Life Well and the fight means XP lost for yourself and XP gained for the enemy. Get used to staying in the fight even when your life is low. If it's low and Heal is still recharging, stay in the fight and wait for the Heal spell to recharge. Only head back to the Life Well if you need to buy something or your Hero's MP is extremely low (since you picked Heal, waiting for MP regeneration can be slow).
