WHAT BRAND, SIZE AND TYPES OF THREAD WE USE TO MAKE OUR DIY CHAN LUU STYLE LEATHER WRAP BRACELETS
Many of you guys have emailed us asking about the materials that we purchased to create our DIY Chan Luu style leather wrap bracelet tutorials. And in this DIY Product Review, we'll be sharing with you guys which brand and type of thread we use for our tutorials.
The silk, polyester and cotton threads we use in our tutorials were purchased from Gütermann. You should be able to find this brand at your local haberdashery as it's pretty well-known.

Gütermann is a German company that manufactures thread, from silk thread to polyester, to special ones like metallic effect thread.
COTTON THREAD (NATURAL COTTON C NE 50)

| Güterman Cotton Thread (Natural Cotton C Ne 50) |
Gütermann Cotton Thread is made of 100% cotton. It's "glossier/ shinier" compared to their silk thread. It's the thinnest and most frayed looking amongst the 3. Available in spools of 100m, 250m, 400m and 800m.
SEW-ALL THREAD

Gütermann Sew-all Thread is made of polyester. It's as "glossy/ shiny" as their cotton thread and it's the neatest/ cleanest looking amongst the 3. Available in spools of 100m, 200m, 250m, 500m and 1000m.
SILK THREAD (ITEM S303)

Gütermann Silk Thread is made of pure silk. It has a subtle satin sheen and is the thickest amongst the 3. Available in spools of 100m only.

Gütermann offers many types of thread with high quality and a wide range of colours. Their thread are by far, the best I've come across. I've tested other brands that snapped while I was preparing the required length for making a leather wrap bracelet. Could you imagine threading beads with those kinds of thread? *shudders*

I have made Chan Luu-style bracelets with various beads, but never Swarovski Crystals. I have been afraid they would cut the thread with time. I always use c-lon. Is this silk thread stronger and able to withstand the crystals better? Thank you so much!
