Skill Combinations For PVP, Strategy

HOC Heroes Of Order And Chaos: Battle Mage (Harlequin) (Courtesan) Anioah Guide

Attacking Strategy I (level 5 & below)
  1. Cast Word of Power: Evaporation to reduce enemy Hero's MP and lower their HP a bit.
  2. Cast Word of Power: Cleansing to reduce enemy Hero's HP further.
  3. Use Word of Power: Protection to use your MP to block damage.
  4. Use Normal Attacks to finish the enemy Hero.
Evaporation > Cleansing > Protection > Normal Attacks

Step 1 to 3 should be used immediately one after the other. If the enemy Hero retreats, use Evaporation and Cleansing, they have a decent range and can easily be used to pick off enemy Heroes retreating with low HP.

Attacking Strategy II (level 6 & above)
  1. Cast Word of Power: Protection.
  2. Run up to enemy Hero and attack with Normal Attack.
  3. Cast Power Word: Smite.
  4. Cast Word of Power: Evaporation.
  5. Cast Word of Power: Cleansing.
  6. Finish enemy Hero with Normal Attacks
Protection > Normal Attack > Smite > Evaporation > Cleansing > Normal Attacks

After popping all your spells you should have reduced the enemy Hero's HP to below 1/2, many players will run at this point. Chase them down with Evaporation and Cleansing.

Recommended Items
  • Boots of Haste
  • Squire's Wisdom
  • Ruby Ring
  • Staff of Vigor
  • Searing Orb
  • The Wings of Paradise
  • Rogan's Conviction
  • Brawler's Lament
  • Staff of Rectitude
  • Enchanter's Ring
  • Ring of Awakening
  • Boneflame Wand
Boots of Haste are cheap and can be bought at the start of the match, the extra speed they provide will get you around the map faster and run down enemy Heroes.

Squire's Wisdom can be bought at the start of the match and gives a slight damage and HP boost that will give you a slight edge over enemy Heroes that don't buy items at the start.

Ruby Ring will give you a damage boost.

Staff of Vigor will allow you to penetrate the enemy's defence so you can hit harder. It also comes with a HP boost and a small magical attack increase.

Searing Orb is available as an upgrade to Ruby Ring and Staff of Vigor, giving you a damage, HP and MP boost. And it also penetrates even more of the enemy's defence.

The Wings of Paradise provide an attack speed boost which means even more damage.

Rogan's Conviction is available as an upgrade to Ruby Ring, it will help you gain some HP every time you attack. It will help you stay out longer and need to return to the Life Well less often. This gives you an advantage over other players without life steal attacks. It also comes with a slight HP and Magical Attack boost.

Brawler's Lament is also available as an upgrade to Ruby Ring and gives an MP boost while retaining the Magical Attack from the Ruby Ring.

Staff of Rectitude is available as an upgrade to Rogan's Conviction and Brawler's Lament, it increases your Magical Attack and allows for even more life steal, it also gives a nice bit of HP and MP increase. Combining the life steal from Staff of Rectitude with the Attack Speed of The Wings of Paradise, you'll be stealing lots of life giving you a nice advantage.

Enchanter's Ring will give you a large damage boost and combined with the attack speed of the Wings Of Paradise means you'll be doing lots of damage, fast.

Boneflame Wand will help you regenerate MP and gives you a nice skill cooldown which means you'll be able to cast your spells more often.

With this item combination of speed, HP, MP, damage boosts, life steal, MP regeneration and decreased skill cooldown time, Anioah will bring down enemy players in seconds. This item combination is also ideal against towers and hordes of enemy soldiers.

Item Purchase Strategy
  1. Buy 1 Boots of Haste before the match starts.
  2. Buy 1 Squire's Wisdom before the match starts.
  3. Buy 1 Ruby Ring.
  4. Buy 1 Staff of Vigor.
  5. Upgrade 1 Ruby Ring and 1 Staff of Vigor to 1 Searing Orb.
  6. Buy 1 Rogan's Conviction.
  7. Buy 1 Brawler's Lament.
  8. Upgrade 1 Rogan's Conviction and 1 Brawler's Lament to 1 Staff of Rectitude.
  9. Buy 1 The Wings of Paradise.
  10. Buy 1 Enchanter's Ring.
  11. Upgrade 1 Enchanter's Ring to 1 Boneflame Wand.
We have found this strategy to be the most effective as it maintains a balance of attack speed, damage, life steal, HP & MP boosts and MP regeneration while maximising the limited gold that is available.

  2. this is my favourite character in HOC!
finally found a guide for her..
i couldn't say she is the strongest hero, nor even the strongest support/magic type. but if you could master her, even Ilhaeryna or lebmont will run on 1v1 battle..

  3. She is a good carry hero. Sure you will get gangbang at the initial part of the game, but increasing her magical damage can prove the enemies that she can solo a figher and a mage hero. Careful though I tried soloing Gurdian and Support heroes and I only manage to halve the HP, so if u use BM to fight these hero class then its better to take a partner with u.
