Attacking Strategy
  • Use normal attacks on enemy Hero till enemy HP is less than half or flees.

Normal Attacks (till enemy Hero's HP less than half or flees) > Ahriman Blessing > Snake Venom + Normal Attacks

Attacking Strategy II (if enemy charges)

Virulent Trail > Run Away > Ahriman Blessing > Snake Venom + Normal Attacks

Retreating Strategy (chased by 1 Hero)
  • Cast Virulent Trail while running away from enemy Hero to slow him down.
  • Cast Ahriman Blessing while enemy Hero is on your Virulent Trail to stun him.
Virulent Trail > Ahriman Blessing

Retreating Strategy II (chased by more than 1 Hero)
  • Cast Dead Eye.

Recommended Items
  • Gloves of Acceleration
  • Watcher's Whisper
  • Ruby Ring
  • Enchanter's Ring
Gloves of Acceleration are extremely cheap and you can buy 2 before the match starts. This will increase your attack speed by a total of +30%. This allows you to farm enemy soldiers faster at the start of the match and also gives you a small edge over other players who didn't buy items.

Watcher's Whisper is available as an upgrade to the Gloves of Acceleration, these are costly but definitely worth your while, each increases your attack speed by 60% and has a chance to reduce the enemy's movement speed. The combination of increased attack speed and reduction in enemy's movement speed makes the Watcher's Whisper a must for player killing.

Ruby Rings are cheap and effective, they provide a magic attack boost which increases your damage.

Enchanter's Rings provide the same effect that Ruby Rings do, except on a larger scale, costs more but bigger damage boost.

With this combination of speed and damage boosts, Sia Tidesinger will bring down enemy players in seconds. This item combination is also ideal against towers and hordes of enemy soldiers.

Item Purchase Strategy
  1. Buy 2 Gloves of Acceleration before the match starts.
  2. Upgrade both Gloves of Acceleration to Watcher's Whispers.
  3. Buy 1 Ruby Ring.
  4. Buy 1 Enchanter's Ring.
  5. Buy 1 Watcher's Whisper.
  6. Buy 1 Enchanter's Ring.
  7. Sell Ruby Ring and replace with Enchanter's Ring.
We have found this strategy to be the most effective as it maintains a balance of attack speed and damage while maximising the limited gold that is available.

  1. I started playing the Priestess of the Tides a couple of days ago. While I agree with with the skill development. I feel that the item purchase strategy is lacking. It is great for mid to end game but it is lacking at the beginning. I am working on my own purchasing strategy. Once I get it worked out I will post it. I appriciate the work Nick it has helped greatly.

    1. Hi Richard! Great to hear that you use this often overlooked Hero. You're right, the item purchase strategy was developed in early HOC days, we've been testing new item combinations and have not had a chance to update this guide yet. We look forward to seeing your purchase strategy!

  2. I like the way of upgrading with booth boost of Mgc attack and speed.
With some mage's it wil be handy to upgrade your Mana..
When saying you need to gain XP and stay in battle front as long as possible. Your MP is decreasing way faster than your HP ofcourse.
and as far as I know is a Mage depending on his mana.

One thing I always buy before match starts is an acolyte staff for 18 magical damage, wich you can upgrade to a staff of Vigor for 22 magical attack and 250 HP, this is a slight start but also this staff allows you later to upgrade to the Searing orb wich gives you 300HP, 270MP and with that also an highly magical attack of 96 and the passive skill to burn through 30% of enemy's magical defense.

It is a long story, but i defintely haten this way to buy a ruby ring, it is a waste of precious 1100 gold. you have many ways to upgrade this in rogan's conviction and afterwards staff of rectitude (200HP, 210MP, 88 magical attack and 15% Leech HP) you also have the option to choose Tower scepter and spider cloak for a lot of defense ofcourse.

I always prefer the items wich are able to Highly upgrade and boots are also important for fleeing, not everyone watches this and get boots at the start.

This is how I see it ofcourse, i am playing a lot of time with the Phase master and i tried the same setup as with Tia and now when she is availible as free heroe I see that it worked better with a total other item setup.

    1. Hi Maikel! We agree that acolyte staff at the start of the match can be extremely good, and Searing Orb too. We've been working on a new item purchase strategy for Sia and we'll be sharing it soon. Thank you for sharing your tips! =)

    2. Ruby ring and Enchanter's Ring and all of its upgrades in its tree also increases damage dealt by skills so it is not so bad. I usually buy the rings after Searing Orb.

  3. nice guide.. but you should at least put 1 point into your ulti at level 6. you shld also get boneflame which is a really good item and lowers yr cooldown time. or the ruby ring? (the 1 that costs 1100). yr ulti is good especially if there is a carry around as u can freeze them than walk in front of them n cast yr other skills so that they can be slowed and basically 0 chance of gettin out, especially with yr carries around.

  4. I agree with Maikel on the item build. But I have some comments to make about the skill strategy and attack. I upgrading using Virulent Trail first then Ahriman Blessing and Snake Venom third, the Trail is good for faking retreat as many enemies do not notice they are taking damage when chasing you until its is too late. Most of the time, the first thing I upgrade to max is usually Virulent Trail.

Deadly Gaze is one of my favourite upgrades. I recommend players to get it a soon as possible. It is useful against retreating enemies or just before running into a battle. For running in the battle technique, use it to get close to enemies then wrap enemies with trail and stun them with blessing when they "unstone''.
The way I prefer to attack is to start my attack is behind enemies lines. I usually creep behind enemies and leave the poisonous trail cutting of escape route then run into the crowd of minions and heroes. The trail should be able to finish of minions while I focus on heroes. Usually when I do that enemies will try to run way, I then use deadly gaze to stop them from running. For optimum results when using this technique use it when enemies is attacking tower. This technique works better is you wait for a friendly hero to reach the tower making the enemy retreat then engage by ambushing the enemies from the back.

Can you try using this technique and get back to me?

  5. the item list is ridiculous this days. you lack walking speed, defende, hp.
a way better final list is
boots (you can choose which one depending on situation, i like bard)
    sathion lollipop
    watcher whisper
    spider queen armor
    searing ob
    hades armor

sia should be tanky and fast in walking and attack speed since too magic atk is a waste
and too much attack speed is a waste since you end up doing no damage and your skill
    don't get boosted at all.
with that list you can survive from an "intensify" attack of debronee (if not super fed)
