HOW TO RUN AND GUN EFFECTIVELY, SHADOWGUN: DEADZONE

Run and Gunners are the Rambos of Shadowgun: DeadZone. These players love the thrill of enemies on all sides, bullets whizzing past their face as they mow down enemy after enemy, so consumed with bloodlust they trample the dead bodies of enemies and friends uncaringly in their need to reach their next target.



Float Like A Butterfly

Running left and right while firing makes you a more difficult target to hit. Always butterfly while running even if there are no enemies in sight. Snipers might be lurking where you least expect them.

Another version of the butterfly, the Left + Right takes the butterfly and brings it to a new level, we took out 5 enemies singlehandedly using the Left + Right.


Take Cover

Make use of every single bit of cover, hide behind a low wall or crate if necessary.

Shock And Awe

The main advantage that the Run and Gunner has is the OMG factor when you burst from cover and become a whirlwind of death amidst them. If the Whirlwind of Death is used correctly, the enemy will be desperately trying to back away to seek cover. We managed to singlehandedly take out three enemies in a room with this tactic.


Close, Closer, Closest

Always close on your target, as a Run and Gunner you need to cause panic and mayhem, because seriously, one of you against five of the enemy? The only edge you'll have over such overwhelming odds is the ability to get close to the enemy and cause them to panic and do something silly.

Run and Gunner Set Up

1 item slot

  • Medikit MK1 < MK2
A medikit is extremely important as a run and gunner, you'll take lots of damage while taking on overwhelming odds. A medikit is way more important than a grenade.

2 item slots (Recommended)
  • Medikit MK1 < MK2
  • Sentry Gun MK1 < MK2
A sentry gun adds extra punch and increases the panic and chaos, a must buy for any Run and Gunner.

2 item slots (Alternative)
  • Medikit MK1 < MK2
  • Ammokit MK1 < MK2
Ammokits can be useful when the game hits that point where both teams are entrenched and refuse to budge.

3 item slots (Recommended)
  • Medikit MK1 < MK2
  • Sentry Gun MK1 < MK2
  • Flashbang MK1
Flashbangs can help you disengage the enemy if you're taking too much fire, or use it aggressively with the Salvation tactic.

3 item slots (Alternative)

  • Medikit MK1 < MK2
  • Sentry Gun MK1 < MK2
  • Grenade MK1 < MK2
A grenade can help you add a kill or two every once in awhile.


1 weapon slot
  • Bandit (SMG) < Big boy (MG) = Marauder (SMG) < Agony (MG) < Warmonger (MG)
An obvious need for Run and Gunners.

2 weapon slots
  • Bandit (SMG) < Big boy (MG) = Marauder (SMG) < Agony (MG) < Warmonger (MG)
  • Shotgun: Mace < Doomhammer
When it's up close and personal at point blank range, shotguns rule. Period.

3 weapon slots
  • Bandit (SMG) < Big boy (MG) = Marauder (SMG) < Agony (MG) < Warmonger (MG)
  • Shotgun: Mace < Doomhammer
  • Rocket launcher: Sh*tstorm < Sh*tstorm II
A rocket launcher will help you take out groups of enemies bunched together, works best if you flank them.
