Skill Combinations For PVP, Strategy

HOC Heroes Of Order And Chaos: Goblin Scout (Winter Scout) Khlint Guide

Attacking Strategy I (level 5 & below)
  1. Attack enemy Hero with normal attacks till enemy's HP is less than 1/4.
  2. Use Fire Bullet to finish the enemy Hero off.
Fire Bullet has a good range, further than Khlint's normal attack range. Perfect when enemy Heroes are running away with very little HP.

Attacking Strategy II (level 6 & above)
  1. Cast Cunning Trap on the enemy Hero if he's standing still. If enemy Hero flees or runs towards you to attack, cast Cunning Trap in the enemy Hero's path to slow him down.
  2. Use Normal Attacks till Cunning Trap effects wear off.
  3. Repeat step 1 & 2 till enemy Hero's HP is low.
  4. Use Fire Bullet to finish the enemy Hero off.

Recommended Items
  • Boots of Haste
  • Squire's Wisdom
  • Ruby Ring
  • Staff of Vigor
  • Searing Orb
  • The Wings of Paradise
  • Rogan's Conviction
  • Brawler's Lament
  • Staff of Rectitude
  • Enchanter's Ring
  • Ring of Awakening
  • Boneflame Wand
Boots of Haste are cheap and can be bought at the start of the match, the extra speed they provide will get you around the map faster and run down enemy Heroes.

Squire's Wisdom can be bought at the start of the match and gives a slight damage and HP boost that will give you a slight edge over enemy Heroes that don't buy items at the start.

Ruby Ring will give you a damage boost.

Staff of Vigor will allow you to penetrate the enemy's defence so you can hit harder. It also comes with a HP boost and a small magical attack increase.

Searing Orb is available as an upgrade to Ruby Ring and Staff of Vigor, giving you a damage, HP and MP boost. And it also penetrates even more of the enemy's defence.

The Wings of Paradise provide an attack speed boost which means even more damage.

Rogan's Conviction is available as an upgrade to Ruby Ring, it will help you gain some HP every time you attack. It will help you stay out longer and need to return to the Life Well less often. This gives you an advantage over other players without life steal attacks. It also comes with a slight HP and Magical Attack boost.

Brawler's Lament is also available as an upgrade to Ruby Ring and gives an MP boost while retaining the Magical Attack from the Ruby Ring.

Staff of Rectitude is available as an upgrade to Rogan's Conviction and Brawler's Lament, it increases your Magical Attack and allows for even more life steal, it also gives a nice bit of HP and MP increase. Combining the life steal from Staff of Rectitude with the Attack Speed of The Wings of Paradise, you'll be stealing lots of life giving you a nice advantage.

Enchanter's Ring will give you a large damage boost and combined with the attack speed of the Wings Of Paradise means you'll be doing lots of damage, fast.

Boneflame Wand will help you regenerate MP and gives you a nice skill cooldown which means more Curative Arms and Fire Bullets and  that you can cast, more heals and more damage.

With this item combination of speed, HP, MP, damage boosts, life steal, MP regeneration and decreased skill cooldown time, Khlint will bring down enemy players in seconds. This item combination is also ideal against towers and hordes of enemy soldiers.

Item Purchase Strategy
  1. Buy 1 Boots of Haste before the match starts.
  2. Buy 1 Squire's Wisdom before the match starts.
  3. Buy 1 Ruby Ring.
  4. Buy 1 Staff of Vigor.
  5. Upgrade 1 Ruby Ring and 1 Staff of Vigor to 1 Searing Orb.
  6. Buy 1 The Wings of Paradise.
  7. Buy 1 Rogan's Conviction.
  8. Buy 1 Brawler's Lament.
  9. Upgrade 1 Rogan's Conviction and 1 Brawler's Lament to 1 Staff of Rectitude.
  10. Buy 1 Enchanter's Ring.
  11. Upgrade 1 Enchanter's Ring to 1 Boneflame Wand.
We have found this strategy to be the most effective as it maintains a balance of attack speed, damage, life steal, HP & MP boosts and MP regeneration while maximising the limited gold that is available.

  1. Khlint's main attack is magic based. He seems to do best focusing his own survivability (through heal bullet/flare) while maxing his magic attack.

  2. I would have to disagree with the skill build a slight bit, I find that maxing out his curative arms prioritizes over maxing fire bullet. At level four with some good +Mattack items, curative bullet is capable of healing over 350 health. I think that this is much more useful than some extra damage. Also, his flare is amazing at level four, because it will heal all nearby allies for about 45 health a second while detecting elves. That means that each ally will gain 360 health if they stay in the flare. Just my opinion, I typically play Khlint as much more of a team support/healer than a fighter.

    1. Thanks Philip for sharing your skill build, we tend to play him as a fighter in matches with uncooperative teammates (which for some reason seems to be the majority of ranked matches for us), in matches with good team play, we definitely agree that playing Khlint as a support/healer is way better than as a fighter.

  3. I agree with Philip. I go around the map and heal team members or help detect elves. I level up really quickly as I am always there to support.
