8 Tips On How To String PearlsOn Silk Thread With Knots

LET'S KNOT THOSE PEARLS!

With the correct techniques and practice, any finding or pearl should sit snuggly in-between 2 knots. In this tutorial, I'll show you how you can string your pearls with knots using silk thread in 8 simple steps!

MATERIALS NEEDED

stretched silk thread

pearls

clipboard

tweezer

STEP 1
Secure one end of your silk thread to the clipboard. By doing so, it provides more control and ease for knotting.

STEP 2
Thread a pearl onto your silk thread.

STEP 3
Circle the loop around the pearl. This way, it's easier to pinch the silk thread with the tweezers later.

STEP 4
Using the end of your silk thread that's secured to the clipboard as a pivot point, lift up the loose end slightly. The gradient will slide the pearl towards the overhand knot to eliminate unwanted space.

STEP 5
Firmly push the tweezers toward the pearl to make sure it is as close to the pearl as possible and pinch the silk thread with your tweezer.

STEP 6
Now lay the silk thread flat on the clipboard with the pointed end of the tweezers touching the clipboard, and tighten the overhand knot so that it wraps around the end of the tweezer firmly.

STEP 7
You can either slowly wriggle your tweezers out, or do it like me. Using my nail to hold down the knot, pull out the tweezers with the pointy end facing away from the pearl to prevent scratching it.

STEP 8
After the tweezers are removed, hold on the the loose end of your silk thread firmly, without pulling it yet. Using the tweezers, push the knot as close as possible beside the clam shell bead while lifting the loose end to create the gradient again.

Still maintaining the gradient, pull the loose end to tighten the knot while the tweezers are still pushing towards the pearl.

Repeat Step 2 to Step 8 till you get the required length of strung pearls with knots.
